 The 3D PRINT FARM

As at the start of play - August 2020 - there were 3 printers in the "Farm";
comparative cat Creality Ender 3. An FDM printer;  reasonably fast, prints largish models but with low quality in that layer lines are always visible. The cat takes 5 hrs 14 mins on this machine. The cat is 112 mm x 126mm. (4 1/2  inches x 5  approx.)  FDM printers use plastic filament which is melted and laid on the Build Plate in lines which draw out the layer being laid. The printer has to draw every bit of each layer before moving on to the next.
Creality's logo is a stylized dragon's head, so this was called the dragon ... and more recently, Old Faithful !

Creality LD002R. An MSLA printer; not so fast, only small models but high quality; layer lines difficult to see. The cat takes 22hrs and 9 minutes.

An SLA printer uses liquid resin which is cured by UV light. Each layer is exposed in one go; for 2 to 10 seconds depending on the resin. However, the layers are extremely thin typically being .02 of a millimeter, so the model comprises of thousands of layers.

Another Creality machine, so the FDM printer became Dragon 1 and this printer is Dragon 2. Now renamed  Yellow Dragon in view of the arrival of Red Dragon.

I am becoming alergic to the resins, so these SLA printers may well have to go soon.

Have now added a fourth printer; GEEETECH A20M; a two colour printer, mixing colours at the hotend so can print a variety of colours so long as they are either the colour on the left reel, the colour on the right reel or a blend of the two.
Another FDM printer like Old Faithful but with a slightly larger build plate.
Clogging problems meant it was out of action for the first couple of months!
